With the Pelicans struggling to develop in previous seasons and unable to acquire impact players in the summer, Zion Williamson’s somewhat unclear future in New Orleans has come to the forefront this offseason. One Pels newbie, on the other hand, believes the reports regarding Zion’s dissatisfaction with the organization are just that: rumors.
Tomas Satoransky, the point guard, has yet to play alongside Williamson. Nonetheless, he seems certain that the media has distorted the young superstar’s position in New Orleans.

The Pels, on the other hand, underperformed under Stan Van Gundy last season. SVG was quickly let go, but Lonzo Ball was lost in the summer, and Devonte’ Graham was brought in to replace him.
Those close to Williamson were allegedly voicing concerns about his future with the franchise even before New Orleans lost Ball, with whom Zion seemed to have excellent connection.

The article questioned if the Pelicans were doing enough to construct a wall around Zion. That mistrust has only grown this summer, as the Pelicans passed on Kyle Lowry and replaced him with Graham, a volume shooter.

Satoransky was acquired by the Pelicans in the Lonzo Ball sign-and-trade with the Chicago Bulls. He recently informed Czech Daily that reports regarding his new teammate’s dissatisfaction are much overblown.
Satoransky told TalkBasket.net, “I have a sense that certain American journalists that follow the NBA want to break apart teams and generate false tales so that something is happening.” “This one isn’t happy. This one wants to go. The truth is usually found somewhere else or in the center.
“It’s absolutely not true that Zion is worried about not having strong players surrounding him in his third season. I’m certain of it.”
Satoransky is expressing hope and advancing a common notion that the media fabricates reports of unrest. Still, it’s strange that he’d take such a risk when he hasn’t even spent a season with the Pelicans or played a single game with Williamson.
Under Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin, the Pelicans have once again failed to make significant improvement. New head coach Willie Green may be able to utilize the potential on the roster, but the Saints only have so much time to prove to Williamson that they are a competitive team.

The 2021-22 season will be crucial for the Pelicans to persuade Zion that they are serious about creating a contender.
Although New Orleans will struggle to reach the playoffs this season, it will certainly need to improve year after year to soothe Zion’s reported concerns. Satoransky and several of the other recruits will be crucial to the Pels’ ability to compete.
Zion Williamson is no longer considered a “emerging” basketball star. He has completely shown himself. The rest of the Pelicans’ organization will have to make similar adjustments to improve the team’s trajectory.
