The Giants have a quarterback controversy on their hands. After a stellar performance in Week 2, Trevon Diggs has been playing at an elite level and forcing Daniel Jones to revert back to his old ways. The question is whether or not the Giants can keep Jones upright for the remainder of the season.

On defense, the Dallas Cowboys have two future superstars. Micah Parsons’ flexibility has already been shown this season. Trevon Diggs is demonstrating why he has the potential to be an excellent NFL cornerback. The New York Giants, led by Daniel Jones, will visit in Week 5. Jones may be forced to make the errors he’s avoided so far in 2021 because of Diggs’ big-play potential.

Who could have anticipated Trevon Diggs’ strong start? Only four games into the 2021 season, the second-year cornerback has already racked up five interceptions.
Diggs had a rocky start to his rookie year. When a rookie becomes pro, they face a steep learning curve. There was no exception with the Alabama product. As Diggs acclimated to the NFL game, other quarterbacks took advantage of him.
Diggs, on the other hand, started to show glimpses of the player he might become by the conclusion of the season. He had 58 tackles, 14 pass defenses, and three interceptions at the end of the season. At the conclusion of the season, Pro Football Focus awarded him a grade of 62.7.
Through the first four games of the 2021 season, the former 2020 second-round selection has been nothing short of spectacular. Not only does he have the most interceptions in the league, but he also has the most pass breakups with eight.
In the Cowboys’ win against the Philadelphia Eagles, Diggs returned an interception for a score. He was a former wide receiver in the NFL who had exceptional ball skills.

For Daniel Jones, the 2021 season seems to be a make-or-break year. He’s in his third season after graduating from Duke. Jones battled hard in his first two seasons, failing to live up to the No. 6 overall selection with which he was selected by New York.
In his first two seasons with the Giants, Jones threw for 5,970 yards and 35 touchdowns. His main concern was safeguarding the football. During those two seasons, he threw 22 interceptions and mishandled the ball 29 times.
Jones is on track to have his greatest season of his short career now that he is in his third year. He’s passed for 1,184 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in four games. He’s also run for 188 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Jones had his finest game of the season in a Week 4 overtime victory against the New Orleans Saints. With one interception, he completed 28 of 40 ball attempts for 402 yards and two touchdowns.
Since Jones was selected, the Giants offense has possessed the most gifted weapons it has ever had. Saquon Barkley seems to have regained his health. In the summer, the front staff added Kenny Golladay and selected Kadarius Toney.
With such weapons at his disposal, Jones has no reason not to perform.
Jones must always be aware of Diggs’ whereabouts.
In 2021, Daniel Jones has done a better job of guarding the ball, but it is still far from perfect. He has now fumbled three times while throwing just one interception.
He’ll now face Trevon Diggs, who is playing like the greatest CB in the league.
Because the Giants are without Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton, Diggs will most likely be paired up against Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney for the most of the game.
Diggs has already shown that he can go toe-to-toe with the greatest receivers in the NFL. In Dallas’ season-opening defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he totally shut down Mike Evans.
Daniel Jones must account for the football prowess of the Gaithersburg, Maryland native. Any lapses in concentration on his part may result in Diggs making yet another game-changing play.
Danny Dimes must do well if the Giants are to defeat the Cowboys. His best chance is to stay as far away from the playmaking area as possible.
