In the age of social media, a lot of people have started to rely on it as their primary way to communicate with friends and family. However, there are some people who might feel that using Instagram DM’s is too impersonal.
I Could Only Talk to Him Through Instagram DM is a story about how the author was able to communicate with her boyfriend through Instagram direct messages.
If you’re a basketball enthusiast, you’ll remember what occurred on November 12, 2018. That was the day Draymond Green and Kevin Durant had an emotional brawl during a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, which contributed to Durant’s decision to leave the Golden State Warriors the following summer.
But how serious did Green and Durant’s feud get? Green recently said that he believes KD banned his phone number, indicating that they were not on good terms.
On the Warriors, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green got into a heated confrontation.
With Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson, the Warriors had just won back-to-back championships in November 2018.
However, after an overtime defeat to the Clippers on Nov. 12, Green and Durant engaged in a heated back-and-forth. Even in the changing room, their furious debate persisted.
Due to his involvement in the incident, the Warriors banned Green for one game without pay. According to ESPN, general manager Bob Myers said that it “was something that warranted the action” they took.
Golden State made it to their fifth consecutive NBA Finals that year (their third in a row with Durant), but they lost when both KD and Thompson were injured throughout the series. That summer, the former Thunder player joined with the Brooklyn Nets, and subsequently acknowledged on First Take that the altercation with Green had a factor in his decision.
According to The Washington Post, he added, “I mean, your colleague talks to you that way, and you think about it a little bit.” “We discussed it, but it is unquestionably true. I’m not going to make any excuses.”
Durant, on the other hand, has recently featured on Green’s new Bleacher Report series Chips, where he discussed how big of a part their feud had in his decision to leave.
“It wasn’t the argument; it was the way everyone behaved as if it hadn’t happened,” says Steve Kerr. “Bob Myers attempted to just punish you in the hopes of putting the mask over everything,” Durant told Green. “… I’d rather for us to be who we say we are: family first, communication second. We didn’t show it, and it was the thing that irritated me the most.”
Draymond’s number may have been blocked by KD.

So, Durant’s spat with Green did play a part in his decision to leave Golden State, but what was their relationship like after that?
Green recently featured on Carmelo Anthony’s podcast, What’s In Your Glass?, and disclosed that his number had been blocked by the former NBA MVP.
On the Sept. 2 show, he stated, “I believe there was a moment when he wasn’t trying to say nothing to me.” “I believe there was a point when my phone number was banned from his phone. There was a point when I could only communicate with him through Instagram Direct Message.”
Green said, however, that he never challenged him about it. If he had to contact with him via his DMs, he would just do it there.
He continued, “Ultimately, it’s your choice on whatever terms we’re going to be on.” “The conditions I want to be on are as follows: ‘You, my brother, I love you; I have nothing but love for you, and we can continue to develop our connection.’ But if that’s not the case, I had to accept your wishes.”
Green also claimed that he was over the altercation as soon as it finished, but that since Durant wasn’t, the parameters of their relationship were left up to him.
And now it seems like they’ve found a happy medium.
Kevin Durant seems to be getting along better with his former Warriors colleague.
All scars heal with time, and it seems that Durant and Green are no exception.
Not only did they appear on Chips together, but Green recently gushed about his old teammate and how important their friendship is to him.
Green told Anthony, “That’s my brother; we’ve done some great things together, but even beyond us winning a championship together, I have nothing but love for that brother.” “I’m a huge fan of that guy. That’s my brother over there… One thing I am certain of is that he has my back in life. Not only on the basketball court, but in life, I know I can come to him if anything is messed up with me. And the other way around.”
Their disagreement may have played a part in the dynasty’s demise. However, it seems that Green and Durant have reconciled their differences.
Hopefully, KD has unblocked Green’s phone number and the two are no longer communicating through Instagram.
