
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are the premiere cheerleading squad for the professional American football team the Dallas Cowboys, consisting of 30 women. The DCC perform in year-round ceremonies at Texas Stadium and also help with various aspects of their home game during the regular NFL season, including kicking-off balls, goalpost padding and other field-goal attempts and extra points.
Average height and weight of dcc
The average height of an NFL cheerleader is between 5’5″ and 5’7″. All girls must be at least 18 years old, but you don’t have to be 21 to join the DCC. They also need to be able to dance in 4-inch heels.
The average weight for an NFL cheerleader is between 110lbs and 160lbs. The DCC has different weight requirements, although no one is ever too skinny or too heavy.
The following is a list of the measurements for each height and weight:
Height: 5’5″ to 6′ tall, but no more than 6″4′
Weight: 110-160 lbs, but never more than 160lbs.
Bust/chest – Medium B
Waist – 22 inches maximum
You can audition for the Cowboys Cheerleaders every year. The auditions usually take place in April and May, and the try-outs consist of:
- Interview
- Dance – one new routine each year
- Fitness – some years you will need to do a fitness test, other years not
- Fashion Runway – Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are contracted with ABC Entertainment Group to also fulfill commercial national and international print, TV, radio, internet, in store promotions and appearances. No previous modeling experience is required to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader because the staff at the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are experts in preparing girls for all types of media opportunities.
What it takes to make the team
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are selected by a panel of former members, community leaders and current Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
It takes dedication, personal commitment and the drive to excel in areas other than dancing for this job. You have to maintain good grades, be involved in your community, stay fit at all times and work well with others while performing the duties of an NFL cheerleader.
Skills do you need to be a successful cheerleader
You must know how to dance in 4-inch heels, be able to work on your feet all day, keep up with strenuous schedules and be willing to make personal appearances.
You need to have patience during the audition process. After an initial interview, there is a call back where you learn more about the position and meet members of the team. You must then wait for a few weeks before finding out if you have made it onto the squad.
