This past season, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title, but he didn’t get there without facing his fair share of on-court challenges. In fact, a newly published Antetokounmpo biography may have exposed exactly how terrible some of those difficult times were, particularly when Hall of Fame player Jason Kidd was the Bucks’ coach a few years ago.
Kidd, on the other hand, just addressed the Antetokounmpo book, and it seems that he is choosing to ignore it.
On the Bucks, Jason Kidd’s coaching approach has been characterized as “psychological warfare.”
Author Mirin Fader made some contentious allegations regarding Jason Kidd, the former Milwaukee Bucks coach who is now the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, in a book about Giannis Antetokounmpo called Giannis: The Improbable Rise of an NBA MVP, which was just released.
Kidd was furious after the Bucks lost a tight game on Dec. 23, 2014, according to Sports Illustrated. He then reportedly put former Milwaukee big man Zaza Pachulia on the position, asking him whether the squad deserved to take the following several days off, including Christmas Day, in front of the rest of the team. Kidd is also accused of attempting to put former Bucks player Jared Dudley on the spot. He reportedly informed the squad that they would train at 9 a.m. the following day after he didn’t like their replies.
During the session, Kidd reportedly had the players do a lot of jogging and went off on former Bucks player Larry Sanders, calling him a “piece of s—.” He then had the squad work out in the pool, despite the fact that several of them couldn’t swim. Kidd reportedly continued to attack Sanders, who subsequently suffered from “full-body convulsions,” according to SI.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a former player said in the book that his teaching approach was “psychological warfare.”
Many of these assertions make one wonder why Kidd is still a head coach in the NBA, but he doesn’t seem to be reading the book.

Kidd mentioned the book in a recent interview with the media, but he didn’t go into detail about what the author and former players allegedly said about him. “Did Giannis write it?” Kidd simply inquired.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Kidd replied, “I’m waiting for Giannis to write it.” “I’m aware of [the book], but until it’s from Giannis, I’m not interested.”
Kidd went on to say that Antetokounmpo didn’t write the biography and that he and the Bucks superstar have a unique connection, despite the fact that Antetokounmpo has spoken highly of him since his departure from Milwaukee.
“I have no emotions about it since Giannis did not write it. According to the Star-Telegram, Kidd stated, “The great thing is my connection with Giannis extends beyond basketball.” “I spoke with him only a few hours after his kid was born. ‘Maverick’ is a cool name.’
“See, you people didn’t know that,” he said. That’s how close we’re getting.”
According to the Star-Telegram, Kidd also stated that a few individuals mentioned in the book have subsequently informed him that what they said to Fader “didn’t come out the correct way.”
But, for the time being, it seems that Kidd is uninterested in responding to Fader’s article. His entire concentration seems to be on coaching the Mavericks, his new club.
Jason Kidd must now concentrate on his role as head coach of the Dallas Mavericks.
Kidd failed to teach NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, despite the fact that the 15th overall selection in the 2013 NBA Draft didn’t become the dominating force he is now until Kidd’s last season with the club in 2017-18. Kidd has a 139-152 record with the Bucks.
Now, though, he has a chance to redeem himself by coaching Luka Doncic, a standout for the Mavericks.
Doncic has only been in the NBA for three seasons, but in each of the past two years he has averaged over 27.5 points and 8.5 assists. He also averaged at least 8.0 rebounds each game. Dallas, on the other hand, fell in the first round of the playoffs both years, prompting the firing of head coach Rick Carlisle and the hire of Kidd.
According to the Star-Telegram, Kidd said, “We helped construct [the Bucks].” “Different businesses, correct? That’s what we did. And this is a business with a superstar on its team. He reminds me a lot of Giannis. They have the ability to completely dominate a game. It’ll be entertaining.”
Hopefully, Kidd has learnt from his errors and can have better success with Doncic than he did with Antetokounmpo, whether the disputed passages are genuine or not. If he doesn’t, he may not have another opportunity to be an NBA head coach.
